Obsessed with Goodreads

Sometime in the last few months I joined Goodreads and became instantly obsessed.  It has literally become my favorite, current, social media site…easily! In a world saturated with chaos filled status updates and Tweets, Goodreads goes back to the basics, joining people together who have one common love…books!

I had never heard of Goodreads until my high school friend Shell mentioned it to me several months ago. After taking a closer look, I was intrigued that this many people still love to read.   Book stores are vanishing by the minute, but readers on Goodreads are growing quickly!

So here’s the idea; you set up a profile, rate books you’ve read, mark books you want to read, friend other people you know and write reviews.  Of course, you don’t have to do any of that.  You can just sit back and look at what other people read or read the reviews on books.

For me, it is like I just walked into the world’s greatest library.  There are book clubs and reading groups, challenges and suggestions.  I remember as a kid walking into our local library and being entranced by the new books with laminated covers.  People still laugh at me because upon opening a book, I typically lift it to my nose and smell it.  I love the smell of a good story! Signing into Goodreads is like walking into the greatest candy store in the world!

Oh…and Goodreads is Free! If, like me, you’re obsessed with reading and books, you have to join Goodreads.  I honestly can’t believe I never had heard of it before! What…an idiot!

Hit the Goodreads button below to go to my profile and see my favorite books and FRIEND ME!!!! Love ya!

I totally concur with your assessment of goodreads. i call it my go-to place whenever I’m looking to add books to my reading list. I love the fact that once you start adding books & rating them, it will make recommendations based on that info. I’m also in the process of writing my first novel and it’s been a great place to explore other works that have a related theme.
